10-Day Safari: Wildlife, Great Migration & Authentic Maasai Experience

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Arusha and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have time to relax and get ready for your safari.

Day 2: Arusha – Mto wa Mbu – Karatu

After breakfast, drive to Karatu. Stop in Mto wa Mbu along the way to discover the local cuisine and sample traditional Tanzanian dishes. Then continue to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Enjoy wildlife viewing before continuing on to the Serengeti.

After entering the Serengeti, enjoy your first afternoon game drive as you make your way to camp.

Day 4: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, begin your journey north from the central Serengeti.

Enjoy a game drive along the way, keeping an eye out for wildlife and following the migration routes.

Arrive in the Kogatende region and settle into your camp.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti – Kogatende

Day 5: Great Migration in Kogatende

Spend a full day in the Kogatende region, one of the best places to experience the Great Migration ("Big Migration").

Depending on the season and river levels, you may have the chance to see wildebeest and zebras gathering at the Mara River and attempting to cross.

Your guide will take you to suitable viewing spots and leave plenty of time throughout the day for wildlife viewing.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti – Wasso

After breakfast, enjoy one final game drive in the northern Serengeti before driving to Wasso.

Leave the busy safari routes behind and experience the striking landscapes of Maasai country.

Day 7: Maasai village and “Land & People” experience

Today, experience authentic Maasai culture. Visit a Maasai village and spend time with the local community.

Learn about Maasai traditions, everyday life, and the connection between people, animals and the environment.

You’ll also visit community projects such as a beekeeping initiative and local schools, and learn how tourism can support education and community development.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 8: Wasso – Lake Natron

After breakfast, drive from Wasso to Lake Natron. Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel through remote Maasai country.

Arrive at Lake Natron before lunch. After lunch, take a short walk to Ngare Sero Waterfall.

Then enjoy a drive along the lake, taking in the spectacular scenery and flamingos.

Day 9: Lake Natron – Arusha

After breakfast, leave Lake Natron and drive back to Arusha.

Enjoy the stunning scenery along the way and arrive in Arusha for your final overnight stay.

Day 10: Arusha – Shopping – Airport transfer

After breakfast, enjoy some free time in Arusha for shopping and souvenir hunting.

Then transfer to the airport for your onward journey or flight home.
